ALL VETS, NONPROFIT PRESENTS:Veteran & Family Discussion Forum
Join All Vets, a nonprofit, for a meaningful discussion focused on strengthening communication and understanding the experiences of our veterans.
Richard A. Harris Jr., M.S., LPC, will lead this discussion. Mr. Harris graduated from G.W. Carver High School in 1978 and enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, serving until 1991. He later earned a master’s degree in psychology and counseling in 1999 and has worked with Piedmont Community Services Board since then. His experience also includes roles with the Departments of Social Services in Danville and Martinsville, and in Henry County, and as an adjunct professor at PHCC, teaching Mental Health and the Law. Richard is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a certified Pre-screener/Evaluator for emergency evaluations. He currently serves as Assistant Director of Community Recovery & Rehabilitative Services at Piedmont Community Services.
Discussion topics include:
• Improving communication between veterans and their families
• Understanding the challenges veterans may face after separating from the military
• Exploring ways families can better support veterans during this transition
• Sharing experiences, insights, and helpful resources in a welcoming environment
Who should attend:
Veterans of all eras, spouses, partners, parents, and supportive friends.
