All These Pretty Things - Tracey Yarad
Co-writer | Tessa Souter

What do you do when your husband leaves you for your teenage
goddaughter? If you’re Tracey Yarad, you dye your wedding dress black, write some killer songs, and turn the unthinkable into art. #TrueStory
All These Pretty Things is a fiercely intimate, musically rich memoir cabaret about betrayal, rebirth, and the inconveniently wild persistence of hope. Yarad holds nothing back as she traces her journey from the beaches of Australia - where a shattering divorce detonates her life - to New York City, where she begins the long, messy, glorious process of starting again.
Blending original songs, raw memoir, and a sly, survivor’s wit, Yarad doesn’t simply recount trauma - she transforms it. The audience is invited into the tender, sometimes darkly comic aftermath of a life upended, but also the unexpected beauty that emerges on the other side: the reinvention, the resilience, the rediscovery of self.
Ultimately, All These Pretty Things is about what remains when everything else falls away - the music we make from the wreckage, and the strange, stubborn triumph of the human spirit.
Why you can’t miss it:
Critics across the UK and Australia have embraced the show’s honesty and craft. Broadway World praised its “beautiful alchemy - breathtakingly honest, gorgeously sung songs on the themes of loss and abandonment, and the restorative power of music and love.”
At the Edinburgh Fringe, Fringe Review UK called Yarad “a naturally gifted storyteller… fascinating and heartbreaking,” noting her “fine musicianship and rare emotional clarity.”
During its London run at Camden Fringe, Salterton Arts Review described the show as “courageous, arrestingly truthful, and wholly compelling,” while The British Theatre Guide hailed it as “a one-woman show of uncommon power.”
