Come join us for d20’s second All-Rare Draft! What is an All-Rare Draft? A fun take on the booster draft format that uses packs composed entirely of only rare (and mythic) cards from all across Magic. And since it’s a booster draft, you keep what you draft!
The packs will be put together and made using rares from any set, including main sets, commander sets, reprint sets, bonus sheets – if it has a rare symbol, it’s fair game. This includes cards of all values too; don’t be surprised to see some high value cards sprinkled in as well.
Keep an eye on this space as we will be posting some potential sample All-Rare packs to give players a better idea of what they can expect in the draft, generate some P1P1 discussion, and maybe even preview some of the spiciness players can get their hands on.
The event will be run at modified Comp REL. Players will be randomly seated at their draft pods per Eventlink at the start of the event. Upon completion of the draft portion, players will register their complete card pools and build their decks. Pairings will then be run as cross-pod with a total number of rounds based on attendance, followed by a cut to Top 8.
We want our players to have a fun, enjoyable time with this event, but also recognize there is a large prize pool involved. Due to the nature of the event, our judges will be more lenient when it comes to rulings involving interactions and gameplay involving a wide range of random cards, but will still be following the MTR and IPG for handling and resolving any situations as necessary.
For more detailed information and specifics regarding the event, please check out this Google Doc FAQ: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Hd526H2WFih0AiIhkM8Pd0k_9QdWoPsz-8aeeQGEups/edit?usp=sharing .
We recognize that this kind of event will be new for a lot of players so we hope this will be helpful! If you still have questions after reviewing the FAQ, please feel free to contact us.
