"Giving to Caesar: Christian Nationalism & Democracy" is the topic of Nov. 13 All Member Meeting.
Can our democracy and Christian nationalism abide in an atmosphere where public officials and candidates who adhere to a gospel that promises belonging and visibility to isolated men but also promises praise, control and power aimed at reshaping households, communities of faith and government at all levels into defined hierarchies? Come join this conversation to learn more about this trend within Christianity in America and how we can be good neighbors while still working to make our nation live up to its founding promise that all are created equal.
The Rev. Christopher McCreight will discuss Christian nationalism and democracy at the Nov. 13 All Member Meeting, 7 p.m., Hobbs Hall in Kent. The meeting is free and open to the public.
McCreight graduated from Hiram College with a B.A. in Religious Studies and from Candler School of Theology at Emory University with a M.Div. He is ordained in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and works in a shared position as the minister of Hiram Christian Church and chaplain of Hiram College.
