All Levels Contemporary Dance Class

Join the Mariposa Collective Wednesday mornings from 10-11:30am at Mi Chantli Art & Movement Sanctuary for community dance classes. Classes are $20 to drop in. We are excited to welcome back Mariposa board member Cass Howlett to teach in June!
Cass's class consists of a gentle wake up of the whole body, starting on the ground and gradually making our way to standing, traveling across the floor, and ending with some phrase work. Cass' style of contemporary is influenced by modern and jazz dance and plays with musicality and texture within the music.
Cass (they/them) has enjoyed grooving in the styles of contemporary, jazz, ballet and hip hop for the past 18 years. Originally from the Pacific Northwest, they earned their BFA in Dance from Western Washington University and spent five years performing with Bellingham Repertory Dance, and the cabaret company, Sugar: The Show. In 2021 they were pulled to Colorado to pursue a new orientation toward dance, completing their Master's in Somatic and Dance/Movement Therapy at Naropa University in 2024. Now they're working as a therapist with some of the raddest queer folks in Northern Colorado and grooving in the Boulder Dance Community
