South Bend Civic Theatre in partnership with Vesper Chorale presents the a cappella musical All Is Calm: The Christmas Truce of 1914 in the beautiful Goshen Theater.
The Western Front: Christmas 1914. Out of the violence of World War I, a silence, then a song. A German soldier steps into No Man's Land singing "Stille Nacht". Thus begins an extraordinary night of camaraderie, music, and peace.
An a cappella chorale, All Is Calm is a remarkable true story in the words and songs of the men who lived it. Sunday, December 15 - Following the performance, staff from the Elkhart County Historical Museum will share insights into how the world found itself embroiled in the conflict later known as World War I. We will explore the history of some of the musical works included in the production and share how people from Michiana supported the war effort.
