All-Day Papercrafting Event: Junk Journals, Greeting Cards, and Gift Tags

Discover, share, and celebrate your papercrafting creativity while connecting with fellow makers.
Join us for an all-day crafting workshop where you’ll make junk journals, all-occasion greeting cards, and gift tags, hosted by Wendy Townley of Wendy Crafts. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or a crafty beginner, our daylong event is packed with hands-on projects, inspiration, prizes, and fun. Crafting supplies and special prizes will be provided by Paper House, a beloved and longtime papercraft and scrapbook business. Mangelsen’s wishes to thank Paper House for their support of this special creative event!

WORKSHOP SCHEDULE:
9am Arrival and Welcome
Kick off the day by getting settled at your crafting station while mingling with fellow attendees. Shop an hour before the store opens – with coupons! Coffee and pastries from FarmHouse Cafe will be served.
10:15am Class 1: The Art of Junk Journaling
Explore your creative side and learn the basics of junk journaling. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll receive a starter kit to begin your journey, including a slim notebook, beautiful botanical-inspired embellishments of all shapes and sizes, and plenty of adhesive to assemble it all.
Gather a few of your most treasured quotes, phrases, lines of poetry, song lyrics, or prayers. If these words make your heart sing, they belong within the pages of your junk journal! Have a personal craft stash you’d love to use? Bring it along. You’ll leave inspired to keep filling your journal long after this collaborative session.
Noon Prize Raffle and Catered Lunch
After a creative morning, it’s time to win some prizes and refuel! Enjoy a delicious lunch catered by Omaha’s own FarmHouse Cafe. Please indicate your lunch preference when registering. All lunch boxes include fruit, chips, and a cookie. Please call us with any dietary restrictions so we can accommodate your needs.

2pm Class 2: Card Making (All Occasions)
Bring your calendar list of upcoming birthdays, anniversaries, and special dates for the year, or simply craft a beautiful variety of cards to keep on hand for future use.
3pm Class 3: Gift Tags (All Occasions)
We’ll start the hour with another exciting giveaway. Then, let your paper crafting creativity come alive. Design custom gift tags perfect for any holiday or celebration. All supplies and materials are provided, but you are welcome to bring your own favorites to use or share.
3pm Coffee Break & Open Crafting
Enjoy a well-deserved coffee and snack break from FarmHouse Cafe. Afterward, the space is yours! Until 6pm, enjoy dedicated, uninterrupted time to continue working on your junk journal, finish up your cards and tags, or dive into any personal craft project you bring from home.
6pm Final Giveaway
We will wrap up our ultimate craft day with one final raffle, a massive thank you to everyone who attended, and a farewell from Wendy Townley and the Mangelsen’s team.
