Kevin Newman, history teacher and Sussex author, presents his new family talk All Creatures Great & Sussex, bringing to life light-hearted tales of Sussex’s creatures through the centuries.From the animals that have fed and fought us, to those that have protected us and even a few that have tried to K*ll us! This entertaining talk explores the fascinating, funny and sometimes surprising relationship between people and wildlife. Expect stories of quirky pets, creepy creatures and plenty to make the whole family laugh.
The session includes interactive elements and activities throughout, making it a fun and engaging experience for all ages. Younger children are very welcome to bring along a cuddly animal companion and colouring pens and paper will be available for those who need additional activities.
Taking place in The Courtyard, the talk also features playful local connections, including a look at animal-themed place names such as The Dorset Arms (“The Cats”) and The Lewes Arms’ famous “Spaniel Racing”.
