All about Cava!

More information on the tasting which will take place in June: All About Cava.

Join us for an enchanting evening of bubbles, flavour, and effervescence while discovering more about Cava - Spain’s most beloved sparkling wine. The tasting will be led by Victoria.

What to Expect:

· Cava Extravaganza: Immerse yourself in the magic of Cava, Spain’s traditional method sparkling wine. Crafted with the same finesse as Champagne but rooted in the heart of Catalunya, Cava is a celebration in every sip.

· Tasting Journey: Sample a spectrum of world-class Cavas, each revealing the diversity and elegance of this effervescent delight. From crisp and citrusy to rich and biscuity, discover the nuances that make Cava truly exceptional.

· Guided Exploration: Our host, Victoria South, will give you fascinating insights into Cava’s history, production, and regional variations. Expect handouts and maps to enhance your experience.

· DO Cava: Learn about the Denominación de Origen (DO) area where Cava is born. From the Penedès wine region in Catalonia to other authorized pockets across Spain, Cava’s story unfolds.

· Fun Fact: Did you know that Cava was once called “champán” until Spanish winemakers decided to avoid ruffling the feathers of French Champagne producers? The name change to Cava was a sparkling success!

This will take place on the Friday 21st May 2023 at the price of £25.00 per person. Arrival time 19.15 for sharp start at 19.30. The event will take place at the flat of one of our most regular attendees: Dr Niall!

During the evening, there will be a break where some food will be served: Selection of cheeses & bread. This will allow us to chat about what we’ve tasted and meet up with everybody.

Once you have RSVP'd, please send the financial contribution to the usual bank details. (These will be provided in the confirmation email you receive from Eventbrite.)

Deadline for the financial contribution to confirm your attendance will be Friday 31st May 2024.
