About Alive After 5
Alive After 5 is Downtown Boise's longest running free community concert series! Back in 1987, Alive After 5 was created to give Boiseans something fun to gather for on weekday nights when there wasn't much else to do. Now, nearly four decades later, Downtown Boise is full of exciting dining, unique shopping, and fun events every day of the week. Alive After 5 is proud to be at the center of it all bringing a celebration of great local music to The Grove Plaza on Wednesday nights in June and July and proving that yes, Boise is still Alive and vibrant after 5pm.
Downtown Boise Foundation is thrilled to continue a partnership with local music booking agency Duck Club to bring new and exciting bands to Downtown Boise. A diverse, exciting lineup of musicians - both local openers and national and international headlining touring bands - are coming to the downtown stage this summer.
About Tips for Charity
The Tips for Charity Program is a much-loved tradition that goes hand-in-hand with Alive After 5. Every year, Downtown Boise Foundation selects two local charity partners who become beneficiaries for select concert dates. Charity partner volunteers work behind the bar, selling drinks at each concerts and 100% of tips are donated to the Charity Partner for that night!
This year's Tips for Charity Partners are The Idaho Humane Society and Boise Rock School. Check out their websites and show them some love!
Concert Goer's Guide
Alive After 5 (AA5) is Boise's longest running, all-ages, FREE outdoor summer concert series produced annually by Downtown Boise Foundation. AA5 fills the Grove Plaza on Wednesdays in June & July from 5-8pm, with a mix of nationally and internationally touring artists and local talent.
AA5 celebrates diversity and inclusion. Music is a shared experience that brings people from all backgrounds together. We strive to create a community event where everyone feels welcome and a part of Downtown Boise.
Here are a few tips to make your free concert experience the most fun:
PLAY! DT Plays will be onsite! Kids and grown-ups alike can enjoy free games and fun while listening to the music. Also make sure to visit partner booths at each concert for games, giveaways, and merchandise.
STAY COOL! A variety of cold drinks, including non-alcoholic options, will be offered for sale. Alcoholic beverages will require a wristband, so don't forget your ID no matter your age! A water fountain is located behind the bar to fill reusable water bottles and the splash pad will be on.
TIP GENEROUSLY! 100% of tips at the bars go toward that week's Tips for Charity Partner.

GRAB A BITE! The Grove Plaza is surrounded by some of Boise's best dining options! Whether you're sitting down to grab a bite before or after the show, or picking up an order to bring it with you, you can find plenty of options at downtownboise.org/dine. Outside food is permitted in the Plaza and picnic tables are available. No glass or outside alcohol please!
STAY IN TOUCH! Alive After 5 may be moved indoors or canceled if there are unsafe weather conditions on concert day. Be sure to follow @DowntownBoise on socials and check the website for updates if things are looking wiggy!
AA5 FOR ALL! Accessible bathrooms are provided and most furniture on the Plaza is movable. Event staff are ready at the yellow information tent and happy to help with accessibility concerns! Accessible parking stalls can be found throughout downtown and in nearby public parking garages.
ARRIVE IN STYLE! There is no dedicated parking for The Grove Plaza, so we suggest walking or biking in if you're able. The Grove Plaza is next to VRT's Main Street Station for bus riders, and is nearby several ParkBOI parking garages.
Remember that the pavement will be very hot. We suggest leaving pets at home!
There is no smoking of any kind allowed in The Grove Plaza.
