ALIGNMENT: Winter Solstice Ritual, Dance, Sound Journey with Ruth Hirst 🌒 “Both light and shadow are the dance of Love.” - Rumi
We gather at this auspicious turning of the year - the Winter Solstice - a time of returning light and coming back into balance. How do we find alignment within ourselves and with the universe? Through movement, ritual, and sound, we open to presence and connection.
In connection, in community - what better gift than to give yourself, or someone you love, the gift of presence and connection.
Join Ruth Hirst for a soulful three‑hour Winter Solstice immersion of 5Rhythms dance, weaving circles of energy, grounding with Pachamama, and flowing into spirit. Together we’ll journey through rhythm and ritual, moving deeper into alignment, and closing with a nourishing sound bath to restore and realign.
Whether you are new or experienced, all are welcome to this transformative gathering. Let’s dance, breathe, and align together. 🌍💫🙏

EVENT DESCRIPTION:
This is a 5Rhythms® mini workshop for both beginners and advanced students. 5Rhythms is a dynamic movement practice that invites us to move how we are in the moment.
This is an opportunity to go deeper into the 5Rhythms - beyond Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical and Stillness, but listening for how these rhythms live within us at the threshold where darkness peaks and the light begins to grow again.
The dance will include a blindfolded wave, where we will surrender to rhythm, breath and intuition. Blindfolded movement invites an inner journey - a choice to explore the unseen currents and discover new layers of embodiment.
Using a blindfold is completely optional - you can choose to dance with eyes closed or open.
Your comfort and safety come first: please honour what feels right for you in the moment.
In this ritual we will call forth our wildness - the untamed, essential part of ourselves that longs to move freely, beyond conditioning.
Through dance we return to the essence, reconnecting with the rawpulse of life that carries us back into alignment.
We will explore the light, the dark, and their balance through ritual. The dance will carry us through what is ready to be released and what is ready to be born.
The journey will close with sound bath, fusing vibration and resonance to integrate the dance into body, heart, and spirit.
About Ruth Hirst
Ruth 'teaches with a subtly that encourages each dancer to listen to what is moving within them. She is passionate to create a space that is safe and transformative, encouraging you to move from the place of how you are. She adds curiosity, compassion and humour to her teachings. She trained with Gabrielle Roth and has been teaching since 2010 and dancing for over 25 years.
The music and dance are mediums, healers, catalysts, that keep calling us back into movement. Calling us Home to be with an embodied awareness in living and being with each other.

Doors will open @ 11.00am. Close @ 12.00pm
