Alicia Hall Moran and Jason Moran Meet & Greet Reception

Through a collaboration with the UGA Performing Arts Center and in keeping with our vision to offer our community rich historic and cultural experiences, we are excited to invite you to a special reception for Alicia Hall Moran and Jason Moran at the Taylor-Grady House.

Jason, a renowned pianist and composer, will be performing on Thursday, February 27, at UGA’s Hodgson Concert Hall (view details about his public Arts Chat, a pre-performance talk by professor James Weidman, and the concert here: https://pac.uga.edu/event/jason-moran/). His wife, Alicia—an acclaimed multi-dimensional artist performing and composing between the genres of opera, art, theater, and jazz—has a personal connection to Athens, Georgia. Her ancestors, who were Athenians in the 1850s, were enslaved servants of Dr. Ware. Her great-great-grandfather’s story has been documented and is featured in an exhibit at the Ware-Lyndon House.

While we are celebrating the Morans' visit to Athens, Alicia has graciously agreed to give brief comments during our reception. Additionally, there will be a special Taylor-Grady House exhibit honoring her ancestors.
