Each year Knowa and Mokah Jasmine Johnson of the Athens Anti-Discrimination Movement (AADM) partner with Pat Priest to produce the uplifting benefit concert Athens in Harmony. The next show is scheduled for 7 PM on Sunday, February 23rd — at the University of Georgia Performing Arts Center.
Priest said, “This concert will be the best yet, with soaring performances from the awesome cast of performers.
Here’s how the show works: Rock, hip-hop, gospel, soul, and other musicians are paired across differences of race, ethnicity, and sometimes genre to sing a duet. The result is a joyful and heartfelt concert that ends in an audience sing-along of John Lennon's "Give Peace a Chance” with local hip-hop artists contributing inspiring new verses.
