Wela Kapela Productions, in collaboration with the Guild Theatre, is thrilled to present this year’s spectacular pantomime: "The Adventures of Alice in Wonderland"!Prepare to be enchanted by a whirlwind of zany, topsy-turvy characters, dazzling costumes, hilarious topical jokes, and toe-tapping songs. This beloved tale comes to life with iconic characters such as Alice, played by Payton Luyt, the Queen of Hearts (Tamsyn Turner), the White Queen (Kyra Goldswain), the White Rabbit (Chebo Ndzimela), and the Mad Hatter (Daluxolo Mgweba). But that's not all—new faces join the adventure, including Nurse Nora Knowalot (Sonwa Sakuba) as the Dame, the Knave of Hearts (Asekhona Gila), and everyone's favorite stooges, Tweedle Dum (Mava Gqeba) and Tweedle Dee (Nicolene Greyvenstein).
This whimsical odyssey takes our heroine Alice far from home and deep into the magical world of Wonderland. Along the way, she meets a host of fantastical characters sure to captivate audiences of all ages. With song, suspense, and silliness galore, Alice's journey is a rollercoaster of fun, laughter, and a touch of the absurd.
The stellar cast of talented singers, dancers, and actors will bring this magical production to life, with stunning costumes by Judy Raffan and wigs by Merrylees Burgess. The show is written by Steven Stead, directed by Amanda Bothma, with musical direction by Joy Sparg, choreography by Nicole Windell, and stage management by Micheala Pike.
