The Algoma Area Education Foundation and Algoma Venture Academy is proud to present a pickleball tournament fundraiser aimed at supporting the educational experiences of students. The tournament will be February 8th, 2025 at the Algoma Area High School Wellness Center and Gym. This exciting event will feature a round-robin format with up to 96 participants (48 teams) competing across three time slots and six courts. Championship matches will be determined based upon records after round robin play and winners will receive medals. There will be refreshments available for purchase on site. The categories available are beginner (3.0 and below), intermediate (3.5 and below), advanced (4.25 and below), and age 55+ (3.5 and below) based upon the following number of team slots and times:16 slots for intermediate teams that will play from 8 am to 10:30 am
16 slots for beginner teams that will play from 10:30 am to 1 pm
8 slots for advanced teams that will play from 1 pm to 3:30 pm
8 slots for age 55+ teams that will play from 1 pm to 3:30 pm
Please note that we may need to adjust the number of teams and format based upon the number of entries, but will do our best to be consistent with the above format and outline.
This is intended to be a fun tournament that will help raise funds to support a student global learning experience in Costa Rica and scholarships for student educational pursuits.
