🌹 Dusk and Dahlia Events are proud to present 🌹 CHAPTER 2.
The gemstones embedded in the Alexandrite mountains shone brightly that night, their jagged and rough silhouettes jutting out against a shadowy night sky. Beyond their peaks, clouds began to roll in from across the violent seas, dark and heavy with a promise of thunder and lightning. The Court of Storms was no stranger to the raucous cloudbursts, after all, it was in their namesake.
It has been almost 100 years since the Cauldron was released from its otherworldly bonds in the ocean floor to create the Bridge. The Bridge ( now know as the Wisteria Woods) merged the Night and Light Courts realms that had previously been separated by waters full of horrifying monsters.
The Cauldron, having been called by the Old Gods to bring unity and peace to the Realms, pierced the hearts of the leviathans with alexandrite fragments, raising their massive corpses above sea level and disintegrating them into fertile land.
While the Cauldron was tasked in bringing these two realms together, its magic was not limited to them alone.
For a small island kingdom, far away from the north shores of the Night court, had also benefitted from the accretion of the sediment left over from the oceans monsters. The small island kingdom quickly rose from sea level into a formidable mountain empire, the alexandrite fragments cementing themselves into the rock and soil that were once the living bodies of ocean beasts.
The empires wretch of a king had reigned for over 500 years, watching his kingdom grow while he himself became stagnant with power. While it was well known he frequented every brothel he came across, carelessly sowing his wild oats, he had refused to marry, and thus, had no legitimate heir to the throne.
It was this particular stormy night the king, leaving his harlot- occupied bedchambers, stumbled drunkenly towards the parapet surrounding his window balcony.
No one heard him slip on the rain slicked stone.
No one saw him pitch forward and fall over the low, protective wall.
No one screamed in warning as he crashed against the rocky breach of the ocean.
........No one would miss the bastard.
