Capitalism Needs Capitalists: Why Business Leaders Must Make the Moral Case for Free Enterprise
Alexander McCobin is the Founder and Executive Director of Principled Business, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to engaging, developing, and activating business leaders to promote the principles of capitalism.
Under Alexander’s leadership, Principled Business has grown into a community of more than 30,000 investors, executives, entrepreneurs, and rising leaders. The organization convenes business leaders through major gatherings such as the Principled Business Summit, taking place October 28–30 in Austin, Texas, as well as intimate retreats including an annual gathering with Sir Richard Branson at Necker Island. Through events, courses, workshops, accelerator pitch competitions, and public storytelling initiatives, Principled Business equips leaders to make the moral case for free enterprise and advance a freer, more prosperous world.
Alexander is also the Founder and General Partner of Liberty Ventures, a venture capital firm investing in and supporting values-aligned founders who believe in capitalism, liberty, and human progress, including through early-stage investments, late-stage syndications in pre-IPO companies led by founders such as Elon Musk and Palmer Luckey, and a venture studio for principled entrepreneurs.
Previously, Alexander served as CEO of Conscious Capitalism and was the Founder and original President of Students For Liberty. He holds degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and Georgetown University and lives in Austin, Texas, with his wife, where they are expecting their first child.
