Join us for a special afternoon in the beautiful surroundings of Chichester Cathedral as we welcome Sir Alexander McCall Smith for an In Conversation event with the Dean of Chichester, The Very Reverend Dr Edward Dowler.
Best known for The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency series, his writing is celebrated for its warmth, wit, and gentle wisdom. With more than 100 books to his name including fiction, poetry, short stories, and children’s books - his literary career spans over two decades. This autumn he will be celebrating the publication of the latest book in the No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency, In the Time of Five Pumpkins and the newest addition to the 44 Scotland Street series, Bertie’s Theory of Ice Cream.
In what promises to be an engaging and thoughtful conversation, the Dean and Sir Alexander will explore his writing, inspirations, and the role of storytelling in a changing world. There will also be an opportunity for questions from the audience.
