Saxophonist Alex McCabe returns to Alvin & Friends with pianist Tom Kohl Friday the 13th.
Alexander McCabe is Saxophonist, pianist and composer. His recent CD Cuba Bella (his 7th album as a leader) blends Cuban and Mexican musical traditions with contemporary Jazz. Listeners will hear strains of 1950’s Havana, folk music from Mexico and N.Y.C. Hard Bop and Avant Garde Jazz. This upbeat and penetrating, Spanish language album also provides a unique opportunity for Alexander to create music with the Hager siblings as a group, after numerous projects with each individually. Alexander says, ”The music is approachable, tuneful and should appeal to lovers of Latin Jazz as well as traditional Spanish music and hard core Jazz fans.”
