You’re invited to a special series of workshops and participatory shows as Alexa & The Folk builds the Songs of Belonging/Songs of Change album — together with you.
Across four months, we’ll deepen into the practice of making music as community, where every voice is welcome, every contribution matters, and the songs themselves become a living expression of who we are—together.
This series is both a fundraiser and a creative incubator where you’ll help shape the sonic foundation for the next chapter of Alexa & The Folk.
In addition, we will hand-select 15 participants from this series to be featured as the choir on the studio album.
Each month includes:
🌿 1–3pm | Songmaking Co-Lab (30 cap)
A guided, collaborative songwriting experience
🌙 5:30–8pm | Evening show (80 cap)
A heart-opening evening of “people-powered” singalong soulfolk with a full band plus featured artists

EVENT THEMES & HIGHLIGHTS
🌑 January 10 — Single Release w/ Ian Love Covington
A celebratory launch for Ian’s first solo single: a live recording from last year’s Cascadia Folk Choir concert of his original song Walking Each Other Home. We’ll co-create new music in the daytime workshop and share our very first Alexa & The Folk collaboration with Ian at the evening show.
💘 February 14 — Love Songs for the Tender & Empowered
A Valentine’s Day to remember.
The workshop centers self-love and devotion; the concert expands into love in all forms — self, friendship, romantic, cosmic. Think warm lighting, cozy ambiance, gentle ritual touches, and an invitation to honor your heart. Beautiful for couples, Galentine’s groups, or soulful solo celebrants.
🌱 March 14 — Alexa & The Folk ft. Guest Artist TBA
We’ll welcome a special guest collaborator from the wider participatory music ecosystem. The evening show will weave in their sound, spirit, and creative magic while the workshop explores the theme of rebirth.
🌕 April 11 — Blessing the Songs: Final Celebration
Our closing gathering.
A joyful, powerful community send-off as we prepare to record the album. Together we’ll raise energy for the project, celebrate the music born in this series, and announce the 15 community members selected to sing on the album.
