Expressing the Beauty of Birds One-Day Watercolor Workshop $215June 6, 2026

Complex and colorful, birds are one of the most common subjects among wildlife artists. Join bird artist Alex Warnick as she shares some of the tips and techniques she's gained over years of painting birds professionally.
In this full day workshop participants will learn how to capture birds' critical proportions and anatomy, simplify effectively, and avoid common pitfalls. Alex will demonstrate her process of using layered washes and dry brushing to capture rich color and fine detail. Participants will develop skills that help them to express the beauty of birds while learning watercolor processes that can be applied to any subject matter.
Our partners at Humane Indiana Wildlife will be bringing live bird models to work from for part of the day as well!
A supply list will be provided prior to the workshop, and morning coffee/tea and lunch will be provided.
