A special evening at MuWo with the Norwegian quartet 'Wavemakers' led by Jazzcampus alumni, pianist and composer Alex Ventling. Featuring fierce musicians from the Norwegian scene, this is the first time the quartet plays in Switzerland. Join us at the Musikwohnhaus, Veranstaltungsraum 2 for this unique evening of music!As the name suggests, Wavemakers is a quartet building large momentum, forming groove-organisms and tightly interwoven harmonic arrangements. The music is defined by a meditative unfolding of singular ideas and interweaving of each instrument in the tapestry. Through nordic jazz, impressionist classical music, minimal music and free improvisation, the sound is unique from this blend of influences and the textures created by the peculiar instrumentation. The band members originally met at the Trondheim Jazz Conservatory in 2021, and are all rising-stars in the Nordic jazz scene (“Tuva Halse - the next Adam Baldych”).
