RICO PARIS | NEW ORLEANS, LA
Rico Paris is an internationally booked Latin dance artist, educator, musician, and cultural leader based in New Orleans, Louisiana.
With more than 20 years of experience across music and dance, Rico’s artistic foundation extends far beyond the dance floor. A lifelong musician, percussionist, vocalist, and student of movement and rhythm, he brings a level of musical understanding to his dancing and teaching that has become a defining part of his style.
Rico specializes in Salsa On2/Mambo, with influences from Pachanga, Cha-Cha-Cha, Boogaloo, Bachata, Afro-Latin movement, and a wide range of musical and cultural traditions.
His perspective was shaped by an unconventional international upbringing, spending significant portions of his early life throughout Canada, Southeast Asia, the Pacific, and later traveling extensively throughout the Caribbean and around the world. New Orleans ultimately became home and the foundation from which he has built his career, community, and artistic identity. Those experiences have given Rico a unique perspective on culture, music, movement, and human connection that continues to influence both his artistry and his approach to teaching.
Rico is the founder and director of RNŚZ Training Academy, where he has developed a growing Latin dance community centered around education, culture, technique, and personal development. As a traveling artist, he teaches and performs at festivals, congresses, weekenders, and special events throughout the United States and beyond.
At the center of everything Rico does are two principles: impact and growth. His goal is not simply to teach steps, but to leave an impact that creates growth in himself, his students, and every community he has the opportunity to serve.
His philosophy is simple:
