Shuck your ears and stand up tall! On Sunday, June 28, the OBB's newest album, "The Opera Bell Band Presents a Salute to Corn" will be served up fresher than a juicy cob at a midsummer cookout. YOU are cordially invited to gather together with us and salute the golden grain - the incomparable kernel - the most superlative of starches!
This is a free, family-friendly event and will take place at The Green Center (8025 Blackberry Ave), an arts & nature center in the heart of University City.

A Salute to Corn was born when the Missouri Botanical Garden’s Sachs Museum commissioned The Opera Bell Band to play at its exhibition Kernels of Culture: Maize Around the World. But it didn’t stop there. Attendees’ insatiable appetite for corn led to an encore performance of the show at the 2025 International Maize Conference. The joy of midwesterners and corn biologists alike was so great that it propelled us to the only rational course of action: to record the songs, to gather for a celebratory corn picnic, and to perform the show once more on June 28.
