Lecture: Precious Metal Containing Compounds for Industrially Relevant Applications
Zoë M. Gehman, Ph.D. will present her dissertation work in a chemistry and biochemistry seminar regarding transition metal organometallic compounds with industrial applications. She will focus on new ligand frameworks designed to alter the electronic properties of transition metal compounds that are the basis of her thesis research in the Gunnoe group at the University of Virginia. The reactivity of platinum, palladium, rhodium and iridium compounds for use in industrially relevant applications will be presented.
Zoë M. Gehman, Ph.D. graduated with an ACS certified chemistry degree and a mathematics co-major from Albright College in 2019. She pursued graduate studies in the field of inorganic chemistry at the University of Virginia. In December, Zoë completed her dissertation to earn her doctorate in chemistry.
