Alberta Dance Theatre Presents Interstellar Cinderella

Cinderella loves to tinker, build, and study spaceships. When an invitation from the Prince arrives for the Royal Space Parade Cinderella longs to go and see the display. However, her jealous step sisters and conniving step mother prevent her from leaving. Thanks to a few robot friends and helping hands, Cinderella makes her way to the parade, and just in time, for the Prince’s spaceship catches fire! Cinderella’s quick thinking and handy skills save the day, and just when the Prince is about to ask her name … she dashes off. Will the Prince ever find his bride amongst this cast of quirky and imaginative characters?

Alberta Dance Theatre is where young artists don’t just perform – they co-create, collaborate, and let their wild ideas loose. It’s a training ground for bold ideas, real skills, a little bit of a magic, and lifelong confidence. This show was created in just 11 weeks in a rehearsal process led by the Youth Artists from dance studios all around Calgary!

Back for another year is our Youth Artist Maker's Market! Arrive early to peruse artwork and crafts lovingly created by this year's Youth Artists. When you purchase an item the Youth Artists who made it will receive an honorarium and ADT will put our portion of the funds towards our rebranding initaitives.

This is Alberta Dance Theatre's 45 year Anniversary! Alumni of Children in Dance and Alberta Dance Theatre are invited to call our Alumni Hotline to share a memory and lasting impression of their time in the company. Call: 825-846-2015. Please also join us at our Alumni Night before the Friday night show!

This show is appropraite for all ages. We use fast moving lights, water based haze, and loud music throughout the show.

Info: Alumni of Alberta Dance Theatre and Children in Dance are invited to join us before our Friday, November 28 show to re-connect, reminisce and toast to 45 years of ADT! Light refreshments will be served at 6:00pm. Show begins at 7:00pm. All Alumni will have priority seating reserved in the theatre. Alberta Dance Theatre's new look will be unveiled after the show at the Red Carpet Gala.

Info: All attendees must have a ticket to the Friday, November 28 show at 7:00pm. Please join us following the show in the main floor Community Living Room at the DJD Dance Centre to celebrate a season of hard work and a stunning performance by the Youth Artists! The Youth Artists will walk the Red Carpet and then we will be revealing Alberta Dance Theatre's new look!

Info: Young audience members are invited to join us before our Saturday show at 3:00pm to touch the props and costumes used in the show, see what backstage is like, and try a dance from our performance! Questions are welcome! Even the parents can give everything a try! This event is led by the Youth Artists of Alberta Dance Theatre. Following the half hour demonstration participants will gather for light refreshments in the main floor Community Living Room at the DJD Dance Centre. Priority seating will be reserved in the theatre for all participants. We think ages 6 - 10 will get the most out of this experience.

Info: Public audiences are welcome to join us for this performance of Interstellar Cinderella which includes a post show chat and demonstration with the Youth Artists. School groups from around Calgary, of various ages, will be joining us in the audience. Limited seating available.
