Life Through a Black Eye is stand-up from a Ghanaian man living in Australia who’s spent enough time on the outside to notice that the inside is absolutely unhinged.
With sharp storytelling, beautifully bad decisions and a perspective that’s both observant and gloriously inappropriate, Akwasi takes everyday life, race, culture, relationships and the weird little rules of modern society, then looks at them from an angle most people wouldn’t even think to stand in.
Smart, silly and just the right amount of dangerous, Life Through a Black Eye is a night of big laughs, wild detours and the kind of comedy that makes you think, “He probably shouldn’t say that” right before you laugh anyway.
