Aktion Club Theatre of Mankato Presents The Mystical Cats of the Monroe
The play follows a group of humans participating in People First- a self-advocacy/advocacy group for people with disabilities. The humans face challenges and The Mystical Cats of the Monroe Forest appear to help them and to reveal to them the wisdom that they carry within through their lived experience as a disabled person in the world. Along the way, we are also introduced to the Long-Necked Bird who lives peacefully with the cats in the Monroe Forest.
The show features an original song written by Flint Million as well as original poetry about cat wisdom.
ASL is offered at the Saturday matinee as well as a relaxed performance. Admission is pay as you wish at the door or a $10.00 suggested donation.
This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
