Some spirits are too bright to ever fadeWe invite you to gather in honor of Akira, our bright light, whose love, resilience, and quiet strength shone far beyond any limitation.
Akira was a 14 year old paralyzed pit bull mix, adopted as a senior from Frosted Faces Foundation who redefined what resilience truly looks like. Even when her body asked her to slow down, her heart never did. She moved through life with quiet courage, stubborn determination, and a presence that changed people in ways words can hardly capture.
At 12 years old, she became a therapy dog offering comfort, calm, and connection simply by being her steady, loving self. She changed hearts without ever needing to say a word.
The ocean was one of her greatest joys.
On a paddle board, she found a kind of freedom that went beyond physical limitation. The salty air, the stillness of the bay, and the gentle rhythm of the water brought her peace and happiness in a way that felt limitless. Being on the water reminded all of us that while bodies may have boundaries, spirits do not.
There is no better place to remember her than where she felt most alive.
We will gather on shore to share stories and celebrate her life 🤍 then paddle out by paddle board and kayak, side by side in quiet remembrance, carrying her light across the bay she loved so deeply.
