Akeome Con is Minnesota's premier 21+ anime convention, created for anime enthusiasts who are ready to ring in the new year with a vibrant celebration! "Akeome" is short for Akemashite Omedetou Gozaimasu, which means "Happy New Year" in Japanese, setting the perfect theme for an unforgettable anime party. Akeome Con offers a unique, adults-only experience filled with exclusive events, interactive panels, a cosplay pool party, and late-night gatherings that dive deep into the world of anime. Akeome Con, previously known as Ahegao Con, and first known as "HomieCon" and began on discord in 2020. It was a way for us weeb degenerates to still have an excuse to get in cosplay and hang out even in quarantine. We hosted our first in person event in 2021 and it was a success! After rebranding to Ahegao Con in 2022, and now Akeome Con in 2024 we are excited to continue to grow and keep putting on this amazing event.
