*REGISTRATION REQUIRED**Are you a new puppy parent in Phoenix, Glendale, or Peoria looking to give your pup the best start in life?
Our 6-week AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Group Class is a fun, force-free training course that helps you socialize and train your puppy for the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy test and certification. We meet in West Valley parks, providing a safe outdoor environment for puppies to learn manners and burn off energy.
All training is positive reinforcement – we use treats, toys, and praise to reward good behavior (no shock, choke, or prong collars are allowed). This science-based “pain-free, fear-free” approach builds a bond of trust between you and your pup while ensuring no physical or mental harm.
In this engaging class, your puppy will practice essential skills like coming when called, walking nicely on leash, sitting calmly for petting, and more. All the skills tested in the 20-step AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy exam.
We also focus on critical early socialization with people and other dogs. (Did you know puppies should ideally meet at least 100 different people by four months old?) Each session includes supervised play or group exercises to build confidence. We’ll answer common puppy questions on house-training, nipping, chewing, etc., and provide handouts so you can continue training at home.
By the end of six weeks, you and your pup will be ready to shine in the S.T.A.R. Puppy test and yes, successful pups earn a medal and a frameable certificate from the AKC. It’s a paw-some way to start your puppy’s journey toward becoming a Canine Good Citizen.
Geared for puppies up to 1 year old (with at least 2 sets of vaccines), this class is a great opportunity to socialize your pup during their critical learning period (7 weeks to 4 months is prime socialization time). We take precautions to keep pups healthy. All participants must show proof of vaccinations (#1 on S.T.A.R. test) images and classes are held in clean areas.
Early training and socialization are investments in your puppy’s future: well-socialized puppies are less likely to develop fear or aggression issues and more likely to grow into happy, friendly dogs. Plus, you’ll learn how to communicate with your puppy using positive methods that “foster trust and communication” for a stronger bond.

By the end of the course, you’ll have a polite, confident puppy and earn the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy distinction to show off your pup’s achievement.
