Chuck Weber Shihan at the 2026 Cleveland Aikikai Spring Seminar May 22-24, 2026.Weber Sensei started Aikido in 1975 in Denver, Colorado with Seiji Tanaka Sensei of Waseda University and Tomiki Aikido. After Hiroshi Ikeda Sensei moved to Boulder Weber Sensei was introduced to Mitsugi Saotome Sensei. Upon request from Saotome Sensei in 1988 he opened a dojo with Charles Page in Baltimore.
In addition to receiving the rank of Nanadan, Chuck Weber Sensei has been given the Ueshiba Juku designation by Saotome Shihan. Ueshiba Juku translates as “Academy of the Founder.” It recognizes that the recipient has shown exceptional leadership in transmitting the teachings of O-Sensei and is a true inheritor of the teachings of O-Sensei through Saotome Shihan.
This special gasshuku will be held at the Cleveland Aikikai dojo at the Asian Town Center, 2nd floor, 3820 Superior Ave. Cleveland, Ohio 44114:
Friday, May 22nd evening weapons class for 2nd Kyu and up at 5 p.m., then regular seminar class at 7 – 9 p.m.
Saturday, May 23rd, morning class at 10 - 12 p.m., and afternoon class at 3 - 5 p.m.
Sunday, May 24th, morning class at 10 - 12 p.m.
The full seminar cost is $120, or $35 per class.
All affiliations are welcomed.
