About this Event
At its core, design challenges the status quo. It’s a tool that dares designers and the public to co-create a better world than the one we live in now. But as design grabs a larger seat at power’s table, it’s often used as a tool to hoard resources for few to the detriment of many. What happens when design’s core function in society is to act in service of governments and corporations? Join Nidhi Singh Rathore, Assistant Professor and Director of Undergraduate Design Studies at George Washington University’s Corcoran College of Art and Design, for an intimate salon about design’s role in modern power-hoarding, and how practitioners can reclaim it.
