AIA Spokane - Emerging Professionals CA Group – Adam’s Elementary Tour I
About this Event
The purpose of this tour series is to give Spokane’s AEC emerging professionals a level of experience the Construction Administration phase of our industry. Our goal is to provide a space for frank discussions about the CA process, while seeing the monthly or bimonthly progress of a project across its full construction. We strive to answer all questions, regardless of experience levels, while also providing insights to the pitfalls, difficulties, and successes of the construction process without hiding the challenges of this unique phase of the architectural process.
We will try to make HSW credits available, and these tours should count towards AXP hours. So if you are looking to log more time viewing construction, or if you want another perspective on work being done in the community, I encourage you to join us!
Adams is a new, 63,000 SF Elementary School that will be constructed on the existing Adams Elementary School site, one of the smaller sites in the Spokane Public Schools elementary school inventory at slightly under four acres. The original school building complex will be unoccupied and demolished prior to new construction work. The new school will have 23 teaching stations to accommodate approximately
450 students, grades Pre-K to 5. In addition to instructional space, a learning commons (library/media center), gymnasium, multi-purpose room, performing arts stage, and other support spaces will be included. The site will include parking, hardcourt play, soft/play apparatus, and natural grass turf playfields. Construction began in March 2026 and be ready for occupancy August 2027.
