Artificial intelligence is reshaping health care, but its value will depend on whether it can be used safely, equitably, and meaningfully in real-world health systems.

The AI4NCD Innovation Collaborative Symposium brings together researchers, clinicians, policy leaders, students, industry partners, and community stakeholders to explore how AI can support better care for non-communicable diseases across the continuum: prevention, early detection, diagnosis, treatment, self-management, multidisciplinary care, and long-term health system integration.

Hosted at Flinders City Campus and linked with the Flinders Factory of the Future ecosystem, the symposium will showcase emerging work from the AI4NCD Innovation Collaborative and its academic members. The program will focus on responsible AI, integrated care, implementation, equity, human factors, regulation, economic value, and scalable health system change.

The event will also introduce a planned Medical Journal of Australia supplement on artificial intelligence for non-communicable diseases. The supplement is being developed around seven contributions from authors across participating institutions, with a shared focus on clinically meaningful, safe, and implementable AI for NCD care.

Participants will have the opportunity to hear from academic contributors, engage with student and early career researcher work, and discuss future research, translation, and partnership opportunities.
