AI Salon and Book Club by Curious Minds Paris
About this Event
AI Salon and Book Club by Curious Minds Paris
Curious Minds Paris is thrilled to invite you to a salon and book club on Artificial Intelligence on the 30th of July.
For this occasion, we are welcoming you on the hottest new literary spot in Paris, the literary peniche Nanna. In the stylish salon of the peniche, surrounded by books, we will enjoy our drinks, exchange ideas and make new friends.
Topics in line for the sessions: anything and everything regarding the political and societal implications of AI, from how it is changing the defence and surveillance around the globe to how is it going to affect future of work to its implications on equality and distribution of resources. It doesn’t end there though. We also have juicy topics waiting for you to bring a little freshness to the Parisian heat: Are we really going to spend our days writing poetry and taking naps if we automatise everything away to robots? Who is the famous AI researcher who convenes his staff around a bonfire to chant “Feel the AGI”? What made the board of OpenAI fire Sam Altman from the company he started and how did he come back? Is the heatwave more potent than AI slop on melting our brains? And our favourite question of all times: Is it okay to ghost people who send you emails written by AI?
We will start off with an input based on the book "Empire of AI" by Karen Hao and will follow with a salon on societal and political implications of AI.
