This event will bring together legal scholars, policymakers, and industry experts to explore the rapidly evolving relationship between artificial intelligence and copyright law. As generative AI technologies transform the creation, use, and dissemination of protected works, policymakers and stakeholders worldwide are examining governance frameworks that can support innovation while ensuring the protection and sustainability of creative ecosystems.

The discussion will address key legal and policy developments relating to AI training, copyright protection, and licensing frameworks, with a particular focus on practical governance approaches for the responsible use of text and image-based works in AI systems.

The event will also feature the presentation of IFRRO’s forthcoming AI Governance Guide, developed in collaboration with Professor Eleonora Rosati, which examines governance models and licensing solutions aimed at enabling a balanced and sustainable relationship between artificial intelligence and the copyright system.

Hosted at New York Law School, the event will provide a forum for informed discussion and exchange among academics, practitioners, and stakeholders on the future of AI governance and copyright.
