AI, Data and Quantum in UK Healthcare: From Evidence to Investment Case

Curia is convening a focused policy roundtable to test and refine an investment case for artificial intelligence (AI), data infrastructure, and quantum capability in UK healthcare.
The session will bring together senior stakeholders from healthcare, life sciences, technology, policy, academia and industry to explore how the UK can turn existing strengths in health data, AI, quantum science, and advanced computing into practical healthcare impact.
Hosted by Rt Hon Lord Kamall, Shadow Minister for Health and Social Care and former Minister for Health and Social Care, the discussion will be chaired by Professor Lady Gillian Leng CBE, former Chief Executive of the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) and Non-Executive Director at the Department for Science, Innovation, and Technology.
The discussion will focus on the coordination framework needed to align infrastructure, secure data environments, AI enabled discovery, quantum sensing and quantum computing around the highest value healthcare use cases. The session will consider what the UK should build, where it should partner internationally, and where access to existing infrastructure may provide better value than full ownership. It will also examine the evidence required to make a credible case for investment across HM Treasury, the Department of Health and Social Care, the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology, and wider government.
The discussion will inform a forthcoming Curia report examining how advanced computational capability can improve patient outcomes, support earlier diagnosis, strengthen clinical decision making, increase NHS productivity and contribute to national economic growth.
