AI in Culture and Arts Course
Toronto Yunus Emre Institute is offering a course that brings together artificial intelligence and culture-arts, which is increasingly used in various fields, including culture and arts. The course will teach participants both the basic elements of artificial intelligence and how to use AI to visualize some key works or elements of Turkish culture.
GOAL of the COURSE and TARGET AUDIENCE: The course is designed for individuals interested in or working in artificial intelligence in the field of culture and arts. It aims to provide participants with the skills to use AI as a tool in cultural and artistic expressions. The use of artificial intelligence applications is among the most discussed and utilized tools and platforms today. There is a significant use of AI in the field of culture and arts, especially in translation, proofreading, and visual design. Offering our audience the opportunity to gain a new skill in such a current and important topic, blending it with Turkish culture and art, is important for the perception of our Institute and our culture. This project will provide an important opening in the use of science and technology in the presentation and transmission of culture and arts. It will also offer a significant opportunity for those who want to use AI as a basic or auxiliary technique in their work, especially for the employees and stakeholders of our Institute.
COURSE CONTENT: The course will cover AI tools related to AI art generation. It will use fundamental works of Turkish culture, such as Evliya Çelebi's "Seyahatname" and Nasrettin Hoca's tales as content for the AI tools learned in the class. The Course . Participants will learn to visualize scenes from these works using artificial intelligence.
INSTRUCTOR: Cevdet Selçuk is a Digital Transformation Manager at Huawei, specializing in RPA, BI, and AI solutions. He has won several awards, including first place at the Huawei Global Robot Star Competition, and has significantly increased workforce efficiency through his projects. With a Bachelor's degree in Computer Technology and Information Systems from Bilkent University and multiple AI-related certifications, Cevdet brings a wealth of knowledge to this course. He will teach participants how to apply AI in visualizing key works of Turkish culture, leveraging his expertise in process improvement and business process automation.
COURSE DATES: The course will run on Mondays, from March 17, 2024 to May 19, 2024. There will be no classes on statutory holidays. Cancelled or postponed classes will be remedied on a later date.
