AI After Dark: Lab, Talking to AI: A Hands-On Intro to LLMs & Prompts

AI After Dark: Lab is a hands-on workshop for people who want to actually use AI, starting at the beginning.

In this first Lab session, we’ll focus on large language models (LLMs) and prompting. You’ll learn how these tools work, why they sometimes give terrible answers, and how to write prompts that produce useful, repeatable results.

Expect to type. A lot.

• Learn what an LLM actually is (in plain English)
• Understand why prompts fail and how to fix them
• Practice writing and refining prompts in real time
• See how small changes lead to better outputs
• Leave with prompt patterns you can reuse at work

This session is designed for beginners and early users. No prior AI experience required.
