Agronomy Research Update 2026 showcases the latest agricultural research findings from the industry in 2026.
About this Event

The Saskatchewan Ministry of Agriculture is excited to bring you another Agronomy Research Update, offered both in-person and online. This annual event provides agronomists, producers, industry professionals and retailers with valuable insights into the 2026 growing season, its potential impact in 2027 and the latest research impacting crop production in the province. Over the two days, attendees will hear from leading experts through focused sessions on plant diseases, soils, herbicides, forages, insects, and emerging agricultural technologies, gaining practical knowledge to support crop management decisions. Featured presentations include Tom Wolfe on drone technology, Jeff Schoenau on the soil impacts associated with straw removal, and Tyler Wist on aphid resistance, along with insights from other respected experts across the agriculture industry. Additional speaker and agenda details will be announced closer to the event.

How does Agronomy Research Update Work?

Agronomy Research Update will take place at the Western Development Museum in Saskatoon on December 1 and 2, 2026. Each day has different topics and speakers, so attendees are highly encouraged to attend both days.

The event will include presentations from provincial specialists, researchers and panel discussions, along with networking opportunities. Recordings of the presentations will be sent to all participants after the event.

Attendees will also have access to a resource area with technical information, displays, handouts, and the Ministry of Agriculture's agri-environmental and agriculture programs specialists. For those attending in-person, lunch, snacks, coffee and tea will be provided each day.

To stay informed, sign-up for our fresh and exciting weekly Crop Production Newsletter and the monthly Sask Ag Now e-newsletter, and explore the ministry’s crop-related publications on our website.

Who organizes and runs Agronomy Research Update?
