Papers, Plans & Preserving What Matters
About this Event

An archive can preserve our memories. A plan can help protect what happens to them after we're gone.

People, We Must Get Ready is a practical community workshop about getting our papers - and our wishes - in order.

Participants will explore the relationship between estate planning, personal archives, family records, creative legacies, and intergenerational memory.

What documents should someone be able to find in an emergency? Who knows where your important papers are? What happens to your photographs, manuscripts, artwork, digital files, intellectual property, family history, or treasured objects?

We'll consider how a will, advance directive, beneficiary information, inventory, or legacy plan can help the people who come after us.

This workshop is designed as an accessible starting point rather than individualized legal advice. Participants will leave with materials and questions to organize, conversations to begin, and next steps to consider with family members, attorneys, financial professionals, and trusted community members.

Come prepared to think about paperwork not simply as administration, but as an act of care. Legacies require protection.
