Age UK Richmond & Orleans House Gallery: Co-creation Project

When was the last time you let your imagination run wild? Do you think play and imagination are important for adults as well as children?

If these questions make you curious, we’d love to invite you to join a joyful creative project at Orleans House Gallery in Twickenham, where we’ll explore how play and imagination shape our everyday lives, at every age.

Starting this September, artist Abigail Hunt will be working with a group of Age UK Richmond members to help shape an exhibition all about the power and importance of play& imagination. Abigail will be leading a series of regular sessions at Orleans House Gallery, involving friendly chats, sharing ideas, and practical creative activities.

This project is intended for people over the age of 60 who live in the borough of Richmond on Thames. We will meet every second Friday through the winter. In the spring the work will be exhibited and creators will be credited!

• Where: Orleans House Gallery

• When: Fortnightly Friday mornings from September 2025 – March 2026
• Time: 10am–12pm

• Starting: Friday 26th September

• Dates:

Session 1 – 26th September

Session 2 - 10th October

Session 3 - 24th October

No Session on 7th November

Session 4 - 21st November

Session 5 - 5th December

Break

Session 6 - 23rd January

Session 7 - 6th February

There will be two additional sessions which Abigail will programme nearer the time.

• Fuel: Tea, coffee, and good company provided
• Cost: Free of charge but please only sign up if you can commit to attend the majority of the sessions.

I’m interested! What should I bring? Just yourself! Come ready to chat, laugh, make, play and socialise together in a relaxed and supportive space. No prep needed. Some sessions may involve making things, playing games, or just chatting and sharing ideas. We would love to have you join us.

This creative project is part of a larger initiative led by Richmond Arts Service, celebrating the power of play and imagination through the arts. The co-creation project will culminate in a vibrant exhibition at Orleans House Gallery, running from April to September 2026, showcasing the voices, ideas and creations of participants from Age UK Richmond and other local groups.
