Age UK HEY - ‘No Age Limit’: The Hidden Face of Domestic Abuse

Age UK Hull and East Yorkshire is the only organisation in the region focused upon older people and it is our mission “to ensure local older people get the support and services they need”. Age UK HEY are best placed to offer an older persons perspective and to shape and contribute to the development and delivery of services that meet older people’s needs.

The Age UK HEY ‘No Age Limit’: The Hidden Face of Domestic Abuse conference will bring together key partners, practitioners and organisations involved in tackling domestic abuse to explore how this manifests itself in older households, to raise awareness around this vitally important issue and to explore together how to strengthen our local offer.

Age UK HEY want to ensure that no older person has to live in fear of domestic abuse and violence and we know from the work that we do in our communities that there is no age limit to domestic abuse. Older people are just as likely to suffer from violence, coercion and abuse in their later years, from a spouse or other family members yet many of these adults are reluctant to come forward and seek help and support. Age UK HEY want to work together with all involved in DA work across the region to ensure that local older people get the DA support and services they need and we see this event as beginning this important work.
