Running a farming business in 2026 requires clear financial understanding and confident decision making.Across western Victoria, recent seasons have created a range of financial pressures for farming businesses. Higher input costs, machinery expenses and seasonal variability mean being across your numbers is more important than ever.
The AgCelerate Business Planning Workshop in Casterton is a practical, face-to-face session designed to help farmers and business partners strengthen their financial literacy and improve how decisions are made within the business.
This workshop provides structured time to review your financial position, understand how cash moves through your business, and plan ahead for the season.
During the session we will cover:
• Understanding your current financial position
• Building and using a 12-month cashflow forecast
• Identifying key financial drivers in your business
• Improving preparedness for finance and business discussions
• Clarifying business goals and priorities for the year ahead
The workshop is practical and applied. Participants will work through tools and templates that can be taken away and used in their own business.
Where possible, having two members of the business attend can be beneficial.
This event is delivered by Cross Country Management on behalf of Agriculture Victoria as part of the Victorian Government’s Drought Support Package.
