About this Event
Join us for a very special evening as we gather together to celebrate International Women's History Month at Copita in Sausalito on Wednesday, March 12. The festivities will be led by the original Agave Girl herself, Joanne Weir, star of the PBS program “Joanne Weir’s Plates and Places” and author of Tequila: A Guide to Types, Flights, Cocktails and Bites. Joanne was also included in the San Jose Mercury News list of the Bay Area’s 10 best female-led restaurants for our #MeToo era.
Agave Girls promises to be another fun, informative and entertaining evening of tequila and cocktail tasting, delicious food and wonderful camaraderie. Enjoy passed appetizers, a tasting flight of tequila, and a three-course sit-down dinner paired with tequila cocktails featuring the wonderful award-winning tequilas of Rancho La Gloria. As in the past, we’ll start with a cocktail reception and a chance to mingle with Joanne and other like-minded women. Then we’ll enjoy a dinner featuring Copita Sausalito Executive Chef Candy Diaz's culinary wonders paired with Rancho La Gloria's single-estate tequilas.
The history of Rancho La Gloria is rooted in their farmers. The agave used to craft these exquisite tequilas comes from a single origin field overlooking a historic Aztec Temple. Each of the plants are hand-selected and harvested at their peak of maturity and average between 90-110 pounds. They have one of the largest barrel libraries of Añejo tequila in the world and their Single Estate Añejo is masterfully crafted with a blend that includes tequila aged up to 5 years.
The doors open at 6pm and the seated dinner starts at 6:30pm. The cost for this event is $125 per person and includes tax, gratuity and Eventbrite fees. Tickets must be purchased in advance.
Debuted in 2004, Joanne Weir's Agave Girls event offers women a celebratory environment to enjoy and appreciate the flavor and history of tequila. There really is no better way to celebrate the social, economic, cultural, and political achievement of women than with a dinner with other women at a woman-led business. And – oh yeah – tequila!
If you love great food, fine tequila, and great company, you won't want to miss this fun and enlightening evening. Grab a friend or come make some new ones – but purchase your tickets soon as this event sells out quickly. You’re not going to want to miss this event!
