Paul is an experienced cyclist with a calm, supportive approach. He’s outdoor first aid trained and very knowledgeable when it comes to bikes — from basic maintenance to on-the-go problem solving. You’ll be in safe, capable hands.

These Adventure Geek Cycling Club rides are social, supportive and beginner-friendly — designed for people who want to enjoy cycling without pressure, racing, or feeling out of their depth.

We ride together.

No one gets left behind, and the pace is set to suit the group. Routes are planned with approximate mileage, allowing flexibility depending on the group, conditions, and how everyone is feeling on the day.

☕ Coffee stop included

Where possible, we’ll stop at a café en route — because good conversations and good coffee are part of the adventure.

🚴 Who these rides are for

• Beginners or returning cyclists
• Anyone building confidence
• People who want a relaxed, social ride rather than a training session

You’ll need:

• Your own bike (road, hybrid or gravel all welcome unless stated otherwise)
• Helmet (strongly recommended)
• Bottle of water
• Snacks (especially for longer rides)
• Weather-appropriate clothing (layers are your friend)
• Basic puncture kit (inner tube, tyre levers, pump/CO₂)
• Cash or card for the café stop
• Fully charged phone

Nice-to-have (but optional):

• Gloves
• Sunglasses
• Small saddle bag or backpack
• Lights (especially in dull weather or shoulder seasons)

This is about enjoyment, fresh air, and friendly company — not speed or Strava stats.
