Afternoon Tea with the Queen

On Saturday 27th June, the Food & Drink Studio will be transformed for a delightfully irreverent take on one of Fortnum’s most cherished traditions. Afternoon tea has long been synonymous with the elegance of the Diamond Jubilee Tea Salon — precise, polished, and quintessentially British — but on this occasion, we’re turning up the volume, adding a flourish of sequins, and inviting some fabulous mischief to the table.

'Afternoon Tea with the Queen' is not your usual affair. At its heart is Pasty, the outrageously charismatic alter ego of performer Jake Grover, best known for appearing on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK. Pasty is a master of theatricality and wit, serving up a heady mix of glamour and razor-sharp humour. With a background in cabaret and live comedy, she brings an infectious energy that blurs the line between stage and audience, ensuring every guest feels part of the spectacle.

Expect impeccable lip-syncs, a dazzling costume change and just the right amount of naughtiness — delivered with the confidence and polish of a seasoned drag artist.

As Pasty takes centre stage, guests will settle in with a beautifully prepared afternoon tea, blending the likes of classic scones and finger sandwiches with inuendo-ridden sausage rolls and tarts.

The event is open to all, whether you’re part of the LGBTQ+ community or simply up for a fun afternoon out — just be aware the tone can be a little cheeky at times.
