CLASS DESCRIPTION:
This Youth Camp is for ages 11-15
Dates 7/17-7/21 Times: 1:00pm -4:00pm Cost $260 plus $90 lab fee.
This camp explores the world of musical instrument fabrication through various means of creation. Campers will explore 3D printing, laser cutting, basic electronic and Python coding concepts to create their own instruments and sound effects. Instrument projects will include box drums, 3 string electric shoe box guitar and amp! Students will explore 3D printing, working with the laser cutter/etcher and Python Coding using a digital audio workstation (DAW) to create beats and music. Students will also learn how AI is used in augmenting music creations, and using a MIDI to create music.
SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE: Class is supported in part by Tacoma Creates with scholarships available for residents of the City of Tacoma! Please submit a scholarship application here and contact us for assistance.
CLASS SIZE NOTICE: Class size limited to 10 in-lab participants to ensure individual attention and low student to instructor ratios. In Lab classes may be canceled if state guidelines regarding group gatherings are restricted.
