If you’re here for the Whakatipu Legend on Saturday, stay for another swim on Sunday! Come and join the Southern Lakes Swimming Club for one of our favourite swims in Queenstown. This swim is open to everyone, not just SLSC members. We are sure there will be a heap of Whakatipu Legend swimmers still in town who would love to double up on an epic swim. The swim will be self assisted with no support crews. That means its up to you to join and be physical fit and prepared.The swim distance is 3km, swimming around the Kelvin Heights Golf course. The swim hugs the shore line swimming along the shelf line where the lake bed plummets below. We meet at Kelvin Grove beach. Walk 400m over the neck and swim back around to Kelvin Grove beach and vehicles. It is possible to start and finish at Kelvin Beach choosing your own distance.
Meet at 8.30am. Safety Talk at 8.45am. Swim start at 9am. This event is weather dependent and we may cancel if the weather isn’t playing ball.
